A couple of days ago I posted an item about an issue in my county school system. The item was
titled "Veteran's Day Snafu," but should have been entitled "Memorial Day Snafu". I didn't catch
my error until after I had posted, so here's the correction:
The school system in my county decided to have school as usual this year on Memorial Day.
A lot of the parents were upset about this decision because to them it is unpatriotic, especially since
the USA is at war and many of them have family members in Iraq. The school officials decided to
give the kids a half day off, but I don't think it's enough. I think they should relent and call
it a school holiday. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm with you on Memorial Day being a full fledged respected, celebrated, and honored, holiday. Who does that school system think it is?
