Do you really know what 4-H is?

Many people think that 4-H is only about livestock. 4-H has changed over the years and it is a great program for kids. I am a 4-H leader and my kids have been in 4-H for two years. I wish I would have started them in 4-H when they were 8 because their are so much that 4-H offers. 4-H is not just about livestock. They have programs for almost any interest.
Some of the programs that 4-H offer are:
Photography
Computers
Robotics
Entomology
Consumer Judging
Food & Nutrition
Child Development
Interior Design
Clothing
and much more!
4-H teaching kids self-confidence, communication skills, learning by doing, how to make decisions, learning life skills, setting goals, and much more. 4-H also has competitions in many different areas.
I would highly recommend that you check out what all your local 4-H has to offer.

I agree that 4-H is a wonderful thing for kids,I think though that while it is still happening in rural area's it has somehow gotten lost in the cities, and this saddens me. I think that if more parents though about it, 4-H would be such a healthy program for their kids to be involved in, after schools in evenings, instead of "hangin out" at the park or going for walks with their buddies, or parkin their butts infront of the video games etc. Sadly I believe that kids now-a-days are really loosing their imaginations, and don't know what to do with themselves, this is why we are having such a problem with young offenders in all areas. I commend you for writing about this on here, and I totally agree that it should be more inplace EVERYWHERE so that our kids can learn how to do things, how to go places, and how "if at first you don't succeed...try try again!"
