Guys and gals, what do you think is the best material gift you can give to your love one (bf/gf) on his/her birthday? I'm asking about material gift here, so please don't say "love", or "I'll be good" or something like those. Let me know your thoughts.

How about a homemade gift i once wrote a poem then framed it.Then give it to someone and they loved it. It shows alot of thought and you can personalise it as well.

That's a great idea! You can get any more material (money-wise) than "priceless." Excellent idea!

LOL! You're funny! You're basically saying, "I don't need anything. Well, except for maybe a million dollars, but that's it. I don't need anything else. Well, except for maybe a Ferari. But that's it - I swear. Well, except for maybe..." LOL I love your sense of humor!

I will tell you about the best gift I received. A little pair of diamond earrings. They weren't expensive, just 1/4 carat and I even pointed them out when they are on sale. That's because I always wanted a pair. So, I think the best thing to do is listen to what they mention that they would like to have, and buy them that.

I know how you feel! I've always wanted a pair, myself. I finally was able to afford a pair on Ebay (yes, they are real diamonds - I've had them tested.) They were only around $100; 1/4 carat per ear. They're great! So if you ever lose one of yours, you know where to get a replacement pair! I have the seller marked as my favorite... LOL

If it's a for the girls I'd go for jewelries or stuffed animals. What I gave to my husband during his birthday, aniversary, christmas etc was first I made a cross stitch photo of him. It's something tiring but it's worth it since he love it. Then the next I gave him a watch which is a pair on my watch. Then I gave him an ipod since he loves music. Then I also gave him psp since he also love playing games. I suggest that in giving gifts always try to know what the receiver likes so that s/he will appreciate it much.

Ten large sack fulls of $100 bills... LOL... Only kidding! But seriously, if you're speaking from a guy to his girl, then I would say an engagement ring. It doesn't have to be the biggest, most expensive ring that comes with it's own little tiny man climbing the side of it with wondow cleaner and a rag, either! ...Just a nice ring, proportionate to the lady's taste and body size/frame, within reasonable budget. If it's from a girl to give to her guy, I'd say a nice deep massage. Guys do a lot of hard work, and a professional massage is expensive, but does wonders for aching muscles! Or perhaps a nice neckchain, or maybe something else that he's been dying to have, like a motorcycle, or a motor boat or something. As long as it's obtainable, budget-wise.

Unfortunately, everyone is different, dear :) The best gift is always the most thoughtful one, so it takes some thinking about your partner and what kinds of things they like to do. Hobby stuff, you know? If your partner is creative, then new creative supplies (pencil/sketchbook if they're an artist, nice speakers or microphone if they're a musician... For example, I'm an artist... so, the best material gift that my partner could get for me right now would be a new digital art tablet from Wacom, or maybe a new paint program. So yeah, the best gift is always the one you'll use the most, in my opinion. So take some time to think about what your partner likes and get something related to that - it will be better than some generic thing like a new tie or toaster ;)

Something that they wouldn't expect but has a lot to do with their interests. For example, my boyfriend loves to cook, so for Christmas I got him a nice set of Wolfgang Puck cookware. It benefits him as he can use it instead of those nasty Wal-Mart pans he has, and it benefits me.....because he cooks more! Win/win situations are always the best to be in!
