The Randomness of Luck

No, it's not a book title, lol. I was thinking about the times I've said 'I never have good luck' and wondering if it is actually so. There are little things we take for granted every day, this I understand, but what is luck? I definitely get the randomness of it all. I found twenty bucks on the ground once in a building full of people and not one person saw it. That has to be luck in full force. So, how do you define it? What happened to you that was seemingly random?

About that $20, you can call it luck or an uncanny coincidence. I think it's the bad things that happen to us that we take forgranted, while the good things we call luck. We get some, we lose some. Sometimes it feels like we are losing way more than we are gaining, but life has a way of going in cycles, so every downswing has an upswing waiting to happen.

Yeah, exactly, I like that. Luck and coincidence seem to be one in the same sometimes. I guess it all depends on how you look at it.

life to me is a series of random events you get the ups and the downs, the good and the bad and you'll never know what or when it hits you (well, not unless you are a psychic).

Very true indeed. Although, I wish I would receive more ups than downs.

i think luck does come to us randomly and unexpectedly. we will never know unless we try to see the light side of things, the positive ones... it is hard to define luck as many have other opinions with it.

I believe I am very lucky for having finished my studies. My family don't have enough money to fund my schooling. I studied in college under a scholarship program. Of course, it takes some brain to pass the scholarship exam and to maintain the scholarship for four years but I am still luck to have that enough brain. I also am lucky to have relatives that helped me for my review for the board examination. I didn't spend a cent. They paid it for me, together with the board and lodging and the allowance. I guess I am very lucky.
