So.... I decided I was going to start eating healthier. Every morning I go to the grocery store and get a BIG 2 pound bowl of fruit with c antelope, honeydew, watermelon, grapes, and strawberries. Not realizing strawberries were acidic. So now, due to my "diligence" I have developed a painful canker sore on the inside of my lower lip. What makes it worse is that it sits right where my upper and lower teeth come together. In my sleep, I am sure I bite it, during the day, I knick it with my upper teeth, bite it accidentally..etc If you know of a good home remedy, or even a store bought treatment you found has worked quickly PLEASE share with me. Thanks

Put baking soda on it and reapply it at different times during the day. It works pretty good.

I don't know if you found a good medication or not by not. I had a small vial of liquid Tanac in my medicine cabinet for the longest time. Love the stuff, but it's hard to find. When I have a canker sore, I drink a lot of hot tea, letting it stay in my mouth a bit. The tannin in the tea have a soothing and I think healing effect. Some herbs have tannins too and can be used as mouthwashes for treating the canker sores. Here is a link to a site that lists all these - I just read it and found it very interesting. http://holisticonline.com/Remedies/Canker/canker_herbs.htm

Hi There, I am just getting over having a HUGE canker sore on the inside of my bottom lip. It was actually the worst one I have ever had. Everything I did actually hurt it. I really could not find anything that took the pain away. I did find a product lipactin which has a film that goes over the canker so it does not hurt. It bacially numbs it. It does not last long however so it is basically not worth the trouble. cheers,

Be careful on the fruits you eat, fruits are healthy but they do have alot of natural sugar, and full of carbs. As far as a canker try rinsing your mouth with salt water 3 times a day to help relieve it. Salt is the miracle wonder of healing the inside of your mouth.
