I only grew up with a little sister. Her name is Emily and we are three years apart. Unfortunately we are like night and day, and we dont get along at this part of our lives. I have a baby to raise and shes 19 and still parties daily. So we dont see eye to eye. So how many siblings did you grow up witn and do you get along with those siblings?

As you know I am the oldest of seven. I have four brothers and two sisters. Which means you have four uncles and two aunts. Growing up we fought like cats and dogs. I try to be the peace maker because I hate fighting and friction. I am closer to some of my siblings than others, but I love them all and wouldn't trade them for the world.

Aren't you glad that you only had one sibling? I'm sure as time goes by that you and your sister will see more eye to eye!

I am the youngest of 4 children. I am close to all of the other 3, although they aren't necessarily really close to each other. We really enjoy each other's company. I don't have any children, but all of them do...so I enjoy being the favorite aunt! LOL

I am the youngest of 3 children including myself. I have the same feeling about 1 person as I do the other. I don't treat one no better than the other.

I am the oldest of 3. I have a brother, 4 yrs younger and a sister 10 yrs younger. We all get along very well. My sister and I are complete opposites, but I think that's why we get along so well, we always have something to talk about! She's very successful and I'm still struggling to survive with 3 kids and between jobs now. My brother is also very successful with 3 kids now and he just gets along with everybody, probably because he's happy and has pretty much what he always wanted at this point in his life. Differences aside, we're family and that's the most important thing. My sister and I don't always see eye to eye because she's still young with no kids and a great job so she has trouble understanding what it's like to struggle, but she's a lot of fun, so the differences don't really matter much. Sorry to ramble on, I really like to talk about my family because they're so awesome!

You're right, it doesn't. But, keep working at it, you might find you get along great when you put your differences aside. Good Luck!

I was the fortunate (or unfortunate?) only child. I liked my space and privacy, as well as unlimited playtime with whatever toys that I wanted. I wasn't spoiled by any means, but it did not create a lot of patience in me. Even though I'm terribly needy and impatient right now, I'm still fairly glad I never had siblings...if I wanted to I could take the 15 minute drive to see my three younger cousins, and that was my fill of younger kids :)

right now my baby is the only child it might stay that way, but sometimes I wander if she will like it or hate me for not having another sibling.

I think she'll find the bright side either way. Kids seem to adapt very well to what they are handed when they are young. I'm sure if I had siblings I would be saying how lucky I was to have them. As long as they didn't simply torment me to the point of breakdown ;)

I grew up with only my 1st brother. He is 3 yeras younger than me and I have a child and I take care of our family and he still smokes pot and parties all the time. We're in the same boat. We get along though because I know that there is nothing I can do about his partying and we don't live together.

That is absolutely right. I have tried to talk to him over and over about what he is doing with his life and he listens to me, but then he continues to do the same thing over and over again. He respects me, but he just wants to do what he wants to do. I used to smoke and party like he does so I can't be too hard on him. He is a smart kid and he knows what he is doing and if he thinks that what he is doing is going to hurt someone else he will quit, but as long as it isn't hurting anyone and he is having fun he is going to keep on doing it. I love him though.

I have four siblings but I spent more time with my second brother when I was younger. My two older siblings are in different generations, they were born more than 10 years before us. When my second bro and I were still playing my two older siblings are working already.. When I came to high school, my sister took me until half of my college years. So I then grew up with her. she's 9 years older than I.

Hi There, I perosnally grew up with one sibling...an older brother. We did not get along at all when we were younger. There was fight after fight and we were definately not close. TImes have changed though as we are older now and have a good relationship. Sometimes these things just run their course and they usually work out well. :) cheers,

I usually take him for a week in the summer we watch animee and go to the comicon together and hang out and play video games. Yes I'm an adult and I do these things. LOL!! Since we live in different states when he's here it about him being here and he loves his neices and nephews. LOL!!

I also have a little sister called Emily, but we are five years apart and are slowly starting to get on. She is at the bottom of the teenage range and I am at the top, so she is slowly becoming interested in the same things as me. At the moment I am wanting the dance mat game for the Wii and she wants it too, so we are going half each with £20, so that saves me £20. There are benefits to having a sister.

I am the middle child of five. The boys were the oldest and youngest and the three girls were in between them. As kids, all five of us were very close. As we became adults the girls remained very close and our brothers are still close with us but they have limited time to be aruond us. Still, they'd be there in an instant if we needed them though. We all live in different cities but the Internet keeps in contact daily.

I have one younger sister and one younger brother. We all still get along fine. That may have to do with the fact though that none of us try to tell the others how to raise their children or interfere in it, no matter how many times somo of us have probably had to bite our tongues to keep from doing so.

I also have one sister - we're five years apart - she's the oldest. Growing up, there was enough of an age difference, that we really weren't too close - that only came after we were grown, married and had children of our own. We are completely different too. She's the indoor, housewifey type, and I'm the outdoors, tomboy type.

I am youngest of three... one brother (oldest) and one sister (middle). I USED to get along with my sister VERY well... until she "got religion." Now she condemns me for the things that she used to do, while I never condemned HER. So, it is left to me and my brother to "get along." Sadly, he's 1800 miles away from me!

I grew up with my 2 brothers and 1 sister. I got along mostly with my younger brother. Me and my sister use to fight all the time, I got along with my other brother but not as good as my younger brother. There was never a dull moment in the house...trust me. :)
