.... where the lady throws her washing machine out the window because she cannot get the stains out? I want to throw mine out the window too,but for a different reason.Iam renting and she has a front load washing machine that has a rubber ring at the front which gets wet. When I moved in here it smelled and on top of that it does not work on every cycle. The door pops open, therefore it will not run.My landlady said that she just got it fixed and that Iam going to have to wipe both sides of the ruber each time I wash.Plus she gave me 1 box of baking soda to run thru the washing machine sometimes. But,it isn't really helping.Today,my whole condo smells like mildew.Yuk! I have sprayed the rubber area in the machine with Frebreeze.I have sboth sprayed the room andput an air freshener in their.Does anyone else hvae the same problem?Any suggestions?

Yes, I think I did. And this was so funny! Your landlord may need to replace this washing machine. Have you tried baking soda?

I used backing soda.Remember,I said that my landlady gave me some. She said that she won't replace it,that it was just repaired. But the property manager says that it is only a year old.Someone is lieing to me.

Yep she stated in her discussion that she had already tried baking soda. I suggested vinegar!

I dont have the same problem because I don't have a front loading machine. But perhaps if you sprayed some vinegar water on it that would take away the smell of mildew. I've heard vinegar is good for all kinds of things and it would be worth a try!

Even if I smell vinegar I will be sick.I know that you mean't the machine not my clothes.I asked her to get the repair people out to replace the rubber and she wouldn't.She told me that she knew it was a pain, but Iam going to have to wipe the rubber everytime I use it and run just backing soda in it once a week.

I didn't mean to put it in with your clothes, as just to wash the rubber piece with it. Should have your land lord replace the rubber piece then if the rubber piece is what is holding the mildew.

I have had that problem in the past with a washer I used to have some time ago. It had that sort of mildew smell. It was hard to get out. I have seen that commercial you are speaking of. My husband really thinks its funny. He told me that it reminds him of me because I worry over little stains a lot in clothing. I never heard of the baking soda idea, but apparently it isn't working for you. Is there anyway you could get a new washer? I don't know if your problem will go away.
