Have you ever had a stranger tell you that you are a nice person?

Yesterday as I went into WalMart this lady was frantically wiping off a cart. I smiled and said that rain is making your job difficult today. She said one moment and I will have it dried for you. I said oh it is fine that is all part of having rain outside. She said oh you are such a nice person most people are mad about the carts. I said well it isn't your fault it is raining outside and that is what happens to carts when it is wet outside. She said I wish everyone was as kind as you are. I thanked her and set off with my damp cart. I really felt sorry for her having to deal with people getting mad over a silly wet cart. I was happy though that she thought I was a nice person just because I wasn't one of those that would get worked up over a cart. It is nice to have a stranger tell you that you are a nice person. Have you had that happen to you?

this is what happen to me last time during our eco-tourism festival. i found 1 unit cellphone while having our lecture for advance mountaineering course. i ask my friend to pick up and he did, few minutes after he said to me that i will not returned the item because he need another cellphone, i replied him that my conscience will disturbed me if i won't returned the cellphone to the owner. after the lecture i returned it to the owner, the owner said to me that i am a nice person, and "hope many of you have the same attitude." i am happy because of his comment to me.

I've had ppl seem shocked when I do something nice like letting them in front of me at the store when they only have a few things or holding open a door for them if I'm already going in or out. It seems like ppl forget how to be kind to each other. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Oh sure, I have had people say I am nice before. Haha, it feels good and spurs me to be nicer. But hey, you are quite nice. You sure made that lady's day!

Yes, I have had people say that about me, and I actually feel guilty because I'm not always that way at home. I know I should be, but sometimes I can be really miserable. It does seem so much easier to be nice to strangers, even though it shouldn't be. We should treat our own the same way. But, I agree - it's not that woman's fault the carts get wet when it rains (duh) and the lady who checked on a neighbor for a stranger - that's just being a concerned citizen. I've looked numbers up for people who have called long distance and they thought my number was the one they were looking for. Especially from foreign countries, getting directory assistance can be a pain, so it was easier for me to look up the number than make them jump through all the international hoops. I've held doors for people who were surprised by it (yes, I've had more than one door shut on me - common courtesy, anyone?). I helped an elderly lady in Scotland stand up from where she'd sat to catch her breath, but she couldn't get herself back up and her friend didn't have the strength to help her. It's just that you see the need and, if you're able, you fulfill it.

It is rare in todays world for someone to be nice but occasionally it does happen. It makes me feel good to do good for someone and I don't expect a thanks or anything so that is an added blessing.
