Why is the Internet so busy on the week end?

Lately my Vista has had a split personality. I'm not sure why. I'm blaming it on spyware. But, I think it has more to do with server traffic and the fact that everyone's online during the weekend. Sometimes I find it hard to get to any of my favorite sites, MyLot included on Saturdays and Sundays. Everyone is going to the same place at the same time and they're crowding the (Internet) super highway. Have you found that to be the case when you're using the computer on the weekends? Do you find that it's harder to access favorite sites online during those days, while it's easier to work online on the week day? Does that make it tough to catch up with friends online? Or, do you have to work online and find that you can't, due to the heavy Internet traffic?

Sometimes my computer seems to not run as well either ion the weekends. I have never thought about it being due to to many people being online. I use high speed interent but sometimes that doesn't matter it still runs slow.

The broadband definitely makes things faster and usually it goes well. But, the weekends are super slow. Internet Explorer freezes and keeps restarting. Maybe it's some kind of computer virus. Hope not!

My husband just upgraded us to the super-duper highest bandwidth Comcast package you can get. (He works from home a lot and is also a computer geek.) I really don't notice a difference because of that. But I think you're right about more people being online, chatting, shopping, doing searches, etc. on the weekends because they have no time or energy to do it during the week.

Tee hee! I'm totally envious. I would love to get the highest level of broadband. My spouse kept insisting that I upgrade to DSL from verizon over the holidays, but I was worried about the recurring cost. I'm doing fine with what I have. But, I guess I could cut out the Netflix and upgrade to higher speed than my slow mo high speed. That's money already spent, so why not, right? Be well!
