Ok, I need some help please. I have looked up a lot of stuff on the pc, but keep coming up blank. I'm tring to help a friend find some information. Any and all information will help. If you get the information from a website try to give me that too if you can. If not thats fine. First question, what kind of time or whatever can you or will you do for a class d possession felony in Indiana? Second question, is there a way you can get the felony reduced? Third question, if jail time is something that would come out of it, is there a way the person might be able to do work release rather than just plain jail time if they have a job? Like I said before any and all information will be greatly appreciated. If you can only find information on one of the subjects rather than all of them thats fine as well. I just really need help with this.

Did you look up the Indiana Criminal Statutes? That will give you an idea but, unless there is mandatory sentencing for possession, your friend is at the mercy of the judge and the recommendations of the District Attorney's office. His best bet is to get a lawyer immediately. A lawyer will be the best person to tell your friend what to expect and also the only person who can try to make a deal with the D.A. when it comes to sentencing, work release, etc.

From what I had researched about Indiana laws is it depends how many times he has been charged the quantity and also if the judge is feeling generous. I seen anywhere from a suspended sentence to 20 years in carcerated. Here in Ma it is a mandatory year if you are selling in a school zone.
