How has television effected your life positively?

For me, I was never really a huge TV fan but after my cancer I am limited in how much I can do, etc. and end up in bed a lot, watching tv. I have to admit that while at one time I was a definite snob of television, I now have a great appreciation for GOOD tv. Watching channels like The History Channel, Fine Living, Food Network and many more I have really broadened my horizons. I've experienced places and things I would have never experienced first hand via this small box that produces a lot of quite intellectual material. I've learned a lot of history and experienced further depths of things I had loved before. I've learned to truly broaden my taste buds and try new methods of cooking and new ideas, especially in spices and new foods. I've learned what the rest of the world is like, how expensive or inexpensive it is to live in various parts of the world. I must confess I've actually come to appreciate the good that television can bring to one's life.

Hi There, I dont really get a chance to watch too much television anymore. However, I used to watch a lot of television but tended to watch silly shows that really did not effect my life at all. One show that I do like to watch (or channel I should say) is the history channel. I have learned a lot from this channel and history has always been a passion of mine. So I think it has enriched my life somewhat. cheers,

I rarely watch tv. I watch the food network sometimes. I also like the travel channel. I have learned about places I've never heard of, and new recipes and ways of cooking.
