I am taking down the Halloween decorations today. We are having a family party on the 7th of November. I want to put up our christmas decorations because I love how nice everything looks with them up. My husband said the family and the parents of the kids I watch will think I am crazy but I really want to. What do you think?

I don't think so, it's your preference I think people like the decorations for festive reasons, it really does make the house look nice, especially if you display outdoor lighting, I think it feels cozy myself on my street....I have neighbors who put theirs up close to Thanksgiving....I would, go for it:)

I don't think so. My daughter and husband want to put the christmas tree up this week. He has already got the lights out to put on the house and started untangling them in the yard. Last year my daughter talked my husband into putting up the tree a few days before Halloween.

I think it is a personal thing for each individual. For me it seems to early, yet I love seeing the colors and lights ; starts my anticipation energy. Personally I wait til Thanksgiving to start. I want the whole family involved and that day everyone is home; so we put ours up. It has been a family tradition since my first born was two. In todays world it is hard enough to get everyone home at the same time let alone involved. So I believe Thanksgiving day is the perfect time to put them up while watching the parades on Tv.

Yes that is a great tradition. I have no children so My husband and I can really put them up at anytime. I think I want them up early to take my mind off of other things.

I would go for it. At the mall yesterday all the stores had their decorations up, the only thing missing was the holiday music. At Macys the jewelry and makeup counters had tons of trees with lights on and it seemed very busy and active for a weekday. We do not take ours down until Presidents Day in mid January.

Too early, too late, it's all subjective. But when stores start carrying Christmas items in September, it is annoying because it is just prolonging comercialism of Christmas.

I really don't like to put up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. I like to take it one holiday at a time.

As early as September, i could already see christmas decorations around. I heard much christmas songs and there's a radio christmas count down already.
