How many of you have well water and chlorinate it once a month?

I was told since I have a well I should pour bleach in it once a month or so. Has anyone else ever had to do this to their well?

We've had well water since we've lived here and we've never done anything to our water. We drink it like it is and we've had no problems whatsoever.

I have never really had any problems either, but I also don't want to take any chances I guess.

i have a well but I never heard of that before. i used to use riddux,but my mother in law has a well and says she nevr uses anything. She said there are two schools of thought on the matter. Since speaking to her I haven't been using anything.

That is something that I haven't had to ever do. I can see how it may be necessary for someone to do though.

I started doing it when the apartments up the street from me got flooded and they have this big swampy area behind them and I was afraid of that getting into our water source.
