Regular schooling is what I'd choose, there they can learn how to mingle and work with their fellow students. They can also make friends, enjoy life and interact with teachers and other older people. I would rather see them learn more about life and people outside our home through regular schooling, than deprive them their freedom to co-exist with others..

We are a homeschooling family and we absolutely love it! Here are a few reasons why...we can tailor a curriculum to our children's abilities, we take field trips whenever we can, we can teach them our values and morals, we don't spend hundreds on the school supplies the schools say they need (not to mention the TP, paper towels and tissues the parents are now required to provide for the entire classroom), and many other reasons. For us, it is a conviction from the Lord that we homeschool our children. We have watched them learn and grow both in knowledge and character. My oldest always has her nose in a book and is a voracious reader and that is so wonderful! Could she have attained that while attending school? Certainly. However, I have the true blessing of being able to see their accomplishments, rather than just hearing about them. We can participate in sports, music, art, etc. during the day, and have family time with my husband in the evenings without running everywhere and then coming home and going directly to bed. Ok, I am going on now! :) There are just so many reasons we love to homeschool! I'll be interested to see what others have to say too! :)

I have 2 kids, my eldest will be grade 1 this year and my youngest is in K1. I have enrolled them in regular school to enjoy the company of other kids with the same age range. I think academics are best thought in school with fellow students, they have to learn to mingle and interact with others, develop friends and build a healthy competitive attitude.

Socialization seems to be the number one "objection" when it comes to homeschooling. However, when children are homeschooled, it doesn't mean they are cut off from other children their own age or that they aren't learning social skills. Rather, they learn how to interact appropriately with adults and other children through sports, gymnastics, art classes, church activities, helping with younger children, and field trips. My children have several friends who are well-rounded and well-educated children and they are equipped, even at 5 years old, to have an effective conversation with adults. However, I truly believe that a child's personality has a great deal to do with whether or not they would do well in a school setting. The school system itself has a lot to do with whether children do well or not too. When I hear of elementary children plotting to kill their classmates or their teacher just because of something they did or said that was "objectionable", I am so thankful not to be a part of that atmosphere....but, everyone has their own thoughts and that is what makes this country great!

That's how parents are, we weight things up and decide to offer only the best for our children irrespective of what others would say.

I live in an area with a great school district so my twelve year old daughter goes to school. If I lived in an area that wasn't so good I would have home-schooled her. I think the socialization of school is important, though so off she goes. Being an only child, I felt the socialization was even more important for her.

a regular school would be much better, coz he can meet many people and it's where they prepare you to face life and it's where you can gain experience on many things!

a regular school is way, way better. aside from being educated it has extra-curricular activities, which are not part of any lessons. there are so many school events to enjoy with classmates and friends, which my kids will probably make a lot if they are enrolled i a regular school. a child can only become kid once, he/she has to enjoy the good things and learn from the bad things associated with being around a crowd. plus, my kids (in the future that is), won't be able to learn how i learned things if they're in a home study. i'm pretty sure it will be very boring and they will not have so many memories to reminisce once they're done with their school life.
