I've no idea if it's true, but at least i got this information for a authentic newspaper. It is said that a fraction of kangaroo in Australia will be killed as the number keeps soaring, and also as the Tasmanian devils are on the verge of distinct because of diseases. Have you ever heard of this message?

This is gross! How can one kill animals! Kangaroos, as far as I know, is only available in a few places on earth, how could they think of killing the poor animals! There are several ways to solve this issue. They could be exported to other countries creating a proper habitat for them. This makes me sad, lyn.

Hello, mimpi1911, the other one said that there are different kinds of kangaroos, you can read his comment. It sounds kind of reasonable, i'm confused now. Maybe it's not a good behavior to just kill them. But if they don't have any good solutions, then~~ Hope they will try the best method to solve **Enjoy life~~**

Hi lynettebyc, Goodness knows which particular issue you've read about regarding kangaroo culling in Australia. There's always some animal activist group or other making a lot of noise about the inhumanity of killing off these just too cute and cuddly creatures. One should understand that kangaroos ain't kangaroos. What I mean by this is that, if someone said they were culling antelopes in Kenya, hopefully people would be smart enough to understand that there are about a thousand different species of antelope, and one would have to look into the story a bit more closely to figure out what's actually going on. It's the same with kangaroos. There are about a thousand different species of kangaroo, from cute little rock wallabies about the size of a teddy bear, to tree kangaroos that swing on vines and eat bananas, to the big greys and reds of the outback plains which get up to 8 feet tall and are a force to be reckoned with. Within all those numerous kangaroo species of all sizes living in all different natural habitats, some species are endangered and need protection, while others are doing just fine and are positively thriving. The last debacle about kangaroo culling that I've heard is a large tract of government land in Canberra that's been overrun with an exploding population of kangaroos (just regular small greys, from what I've seen) that are eating everything and are actually threatening the survival of a bunch of threatened plant an animal species in the area. So the decision was made to cull the kangaroo population there, to protect the threatened species and to prevent a mass starvation amongst the kangaroos once they'd eaten everything there is to be eaten - a far crueler fate than organizing to shoot a bunch of them instead. As usual, animal rights activists and celebrity actors and other not-too-bright bleeding hearts like Sir Paul McCartney in Britain have weighed into a straight-forward livestock management issue with cries of animal cruelty and other such nonsense. Seems the kangaroos are something of a sacred cow to animal rights activists. Thankfully they don't give so much attention to the management of other animals which have multiplied to the point of becoming pests, such as rabbits. But it's still annoying to have the management of exploding kangaroo populations whipped up into a media storm, every time, time after time. As for the Tasmanian Devils (cranky little fellows that they are), that's a rather more serious issue. The Tasmanian Devils are apparently suffering from some sort of "facial tumor" epidemic which is threatening to wipe them out. I hope someone figures out how to cure the problem, because if they do all die out, that's the end of the matter. They don't exist anywhere else but in Tasmania, and they might be ornery little critters, but they are sort of cute (in a scary sort of way).

Wow, dodoguy, thanks so much for posting such a long comment. I'm better understand the situation now, there are so many kangaroos, huh? I only know the world *Kangaroo*, how ignorant~~ And thereby hangs a tale. People do things and have a reason. Thanks for sharing, good luck to Tasmanian devils. **Enjoy life~~**

I haven't heard Aussie to kill the surplus kangaroo. They better inject the female kangaroos to avoid its multiplication.
