But we have to kill plants to eat them (or at least cut things off most of them).
The Dalai Lama (as in the spirit and not just the body) has been an omnivore far more than a vegetarian. One of the most spiritual beings on this planet... not a veggie.
As for Christ. I can't recall him at any point condemning or promoting one way or the other. But then, I can't think of a record of him specifically eating meat.
God told Noah that every living thing on the Earth was for man's food;
Gen. 9:3 Every creeping thing that is alive, to you it is for food; as the green herb I have given to you the whole;
But then... there are lots of other rules stating what God does and doesn't want people to eat. But I can't think of a single thing that Jesus had to say on the matter. That doesn't mean there isn't anything, of course.

Hmm,.. tough question..
I think Jesus will eat foods that willingly given, no mater who the person is, no mater how rich or poor the person was, as long as These food are given with the right way, and not a stolen food. And he will not disappoint people who is given it to him. And too picky about food. I don’t think he will say “ Sorry I don’t eat that meat because I love animal” or “I got to watch my diet” or “ I am vegetarian” ..Just joking sutanhartono!
We have to see and live in this era, What if a sheep shepherd and he only have 40 sheep without anything else even a house, only he and his sheep and lambs, and he decided to share his lamb meat with Jesus.. what would Jesus react ? he wouldn’t dare to break his heart don’t you think? The closed thought about Jesus That he will happy with a smile from the heart and said “God bless us with this food”
Jesus always in a journey, place to place.. town, and another town. He might be step in to a friend house for a night or two for rest and shelter. And the owner of the house happily with a guest like him. And the lady of the house Happily cook for dinner. And in her refrigerator (ups) her food rack she have only salty fish, cheese, and some grain (because that foods is last longer with people that have no refrigerator) and Jesus will only said “God bless us with this food and these family” and they gather around and eat. Just eat. I think he will eat everything that served by this lady. And probably thanks for the lady in the house for a great excelent cooking (even though these are just simple meal) I don’t think he would break a heart. He will sacrificed him self for make other people happy and felt blissful in a simple way.
Well, about his secret for loving animal and wouldn’t dare to kill and eat one, He is a person like that. But he will never let people know about it because he want to involve with other people, reach them from the bottom of their heart only for showing the way of God. The secret of approaching, need self sacrificed .

i srriously doubt that i know the bible tells us he ate fish and Gosd id give us meat for food in the begining
Genesis 6:
2. The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands.
3. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

I think only the Buddhism and Jainism are the 2 religions which preach exclusive vegetarianism.. Hindu culture mentions that the non vegetarian food is to be avoided but i dont know whether it is mentioned somewhere that non veg must not be consumed..
Jesus is a non vegetarian i think.. but i dont know why the christians claim that christianity is a peaceful religion but doesnt mention to be vegetarians anywhere in the bible?

Jesus was born a Jew. He would keep Kosher. He would also keep Sabbat. He would eat the foods of the region. These would include:
Fish
Dairy
Fruits
Vegtables
Meat (primarily lamb, but beef as well)
He was not a vegetarian!

Well, I'm not sure what to think about your question. God does say in the Bible that he was giving us the animals to take care of, but also to eat. There are descriptive passages in the Bible that say exactly which animals are okay to eat and which are not. God also condoned the sacrificial killing of animals, so I don't know what you mean about the "spirit of love" stuff. Jesus probably did eat meat.
