Do you think caffeinated beverages can cause a high pulse?

I kind of wonder if it does. I like to drink a can of pop a day, but I also like to donate plasma...for the money. I get asked if I drink anything with caffeine when I go in there and I've had a consistent high pulse since last December. Of course, one nurse told me caffeinated beverages had nothing to do with it, when I asked her. What do you think?
