Do you spend less time on the computer/internet when it is summertime?

Spring is coming to Sweden with sunny skies (at least once in a while), lots of light and warmer winds. I find that the good weather and the lighter moods that comes with it makes it harder to spend time at the computer and on the internet. Do you have this problem? Do you spend less time on the computer during summer? If you have a business online, is it harder to sit down and do the needed hours online? Or perhaps you have a laptop with wireless internet? Do you bring it out?

I take medication that makes me ultra sensitive to sunlight and heat. That makes it necessary for me to hide in my apartment/bedroom slash computer room with the air conditioner on full at the keyboard all day. I wish I could enjoy summertime activities like the rest of the people laughing happily outside, but that is not to be.

Avoiding the shopping malls is just priceless. Especially during the holiday season when parents drag overtired toddlers from 'dazzling' sale to 'dazzling' sale oblivious to their howls of opinion.

Well.. I don't think you have to be ultra sensitive to light and heat to not like the malls at that time.. I am normally ultra sensitive to noisy kids, which is my reason for avoiding malls during sales etc :)

I feel sorry for you! I think the light outside lightens up your mood too. But if you are sensitive for light it will probably be a painful experience to go out, so it is good that you have the internet! There you can do a lot without moving from your chair!

i actually spend more time on the computer during summer or any good weather coz i encounter some difficulty with my internet connection during bad weather. good weather is my chance to surf the net without hassle hihi.

I haven't thought about that angle! I do know it is annoying when the internet is down or really slow, so I know what you mean!

Most of the time, I spend my entire free time in front of my computer even though summer is too obvious in my place. Its really hot but I'd rather spend it inside my room (wiht full blast of ventilation) than being outside spending summer at the beach or elsewhere.

I guess it depends a lot on where you are! Here in Sweden it is such a short time of summer that you have to really use it. When I was living in Australia however, it was basically summer all year around, and it didn't seem so necessary to do anything just because it was summer. Instead there I did as you, tried to stay out of the extremely hot sun!

Wow, I wish I had that problem of it getting "too hot", here it is hardly ever warm enough. And the few times it get warm enough it only stays for a couple of days!

During the summer I love staying outside and I actually stay away from the computer. There's so much to do here in Canada and in the winter too that keeps my mind off the computer. So pretty much in the summer and winter when there's something to do I'm out enjoying myself instead of staying in. Summer I go outside more than ever though. Sweden must be beautiful get out as much as you can!!!! I might be travelling there to do a few things and maybe catch a Ana Johnsson show. :P

Sounds awesome, you are welcome here! I think that Canada might be a bit similar to Sweden in some places at least, considering the temperature and climate!

Hi emi! I spend the same amount of time be it winter or summer. It's my jobs that make a difference in when I can be on or not. In the summer I will be working more evenings so I shall be off in the afternonns whereas now I am working them. Usually July and August here are much too hot for my liking and I'd rather be in, with the windows open than out in the midsummer sun. Actually here it's quite odd at the moment. In my area no sunny days yet this year - rain for the last 10 days

Its not hard to spend hours in front of the computer when it is raining! But I really hope it doesn't stay that way even though I enjoy your "company" online, because it brings ones mood down when the weather is dark and grey instead of sunny! Hope the weather improves!

I find the same problem. Instead of viewing each website I normally visit for a shorter time, I find that there are some websites I don't even visit in the summertime. I can see how this is a big problem traffic-wise for some webmasters. I am hoping, though, that there is a surge for the sites that I use.

I dont because our summers here are really hot. So i often sit in the AC with my computer however I do wish I could sit outside with my laptop more often it's vry hard to see the screen in sunlight.

During the summer I usually have a summer job so I spend a lot of time away from home and as I leave near the beach I also want to go for a swim when I have time and I have to do everything else that I do during the rest of the year so it reduces my time online to 1 or 2 hours per day and sometimes not even that much. This year I don't know if I am going to work because I have to study and I have too many things to do at home and I have to think about it little more. I have laptop with wireless internet but I mostly use it at home or at the university.

no, on summer time, i spend much time on the computer. that's because when summer, the weather is hot outsite. and that make me lazy to go out. so, I spend my spare time to doing internet or posting on mylot like now.
