I don't really want to get sick like cough and colds, runny nose and bad head ache which I feel now. Am sure nobody wants to get sick like this. I hate to take medicines because sometimes it makes me worst. I want to know from you here is there is better home remedy for cough and colds? Well, even if I am sneezing now, I'm still on mylot. I don't want to miss the topics that interests me. If you can give me some tips now on how to cure cough and colds using home treatments that would be very much appreciated. I am here waiting for your ideas and suggestions. Thanks....

Getting sick nowadays is a big no-no for me. I don't want to get sick really to be at work and support my family. It's so hard to be absent even a day from work since money is really what keeps us going these days given the rising prices of all commodities. Anyway, with your colds and cough, try water therapy. Drink more water and more preferably, hot water.

a good strong cup of hot tea with lemon and honey is a good cough suppressant. ALso, I will cut up 3 lemons into small pieces, put them in a glass jar, pour enough honey on the lemon to cover completely. Refrigerate for a few hours to a few days. Take two tablespoons of the lemon and honey and put into a cup, pour boiling water over the mixture, and drink. The mixture will last for at least two months in the refrigerator. This a great one, and also works very well for a sore throat. Also, lemon rinds lose their bitterness in the honey, so you can actually eat the rind after it has soaked in the honey for a day.

I am sure people have said hot tea and lemon. Best cure for the icks, IMO sleep. The more sleep you get, the better you tend to feel later. Also a trip into a steamy shower can relieve many symptoms, in the short term.

Oh dear! ^_^; I'm just getting over the flu and I can understand your pain. My coughs hurt so much I tried to hold my breath, which really wasn't the best solution. I liked putting a cold, damp cloth on my forehead to help with the headache. I also drank two gallons of water a day (I used a pitcher to measure this, hehe). Honestly, I hope you ride it out okay. If you have a heating pad, perhaps use it to warm your feet. Best of luck to you!

I must say that I agree with the tea with lots of honey and lemon school of thinking. :) The other thing that works very, very well is boiling ginger root (slice it into thin slices and put it into the water). Just make it into ginger tea. It will be kind of spicy, a little tart (just not sweet). If your cold is really bad you won't taste a thing. This works like a charm everytime I have a cold. Feel better! Oh -- vitamin C too! :)

There's something else that works very well for my family, but I dont know if you can get the ingredients everywhere. Get some frankinsense and myrhh, put a dozen pieces into a sauce pan with a pint of water, grater half a nutmeg into the water, add three leaves of leaf of life and bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes or so, strain into a mug, sweeten to tatse and drink, the hotter the better. I must admit the first time I tried this I didnt like it at all, but it kinda grew on me and it definitely works. It dries up the mucus and kills the cold, too. As to the medicinal value, you would have to ask a homeopathist for details, but it works

The last time I had a cough my husband made me a hot drink of burbon and honey, that fixed my cold right up. I had no problems with a cough after that. The remedy worked, and it tasted absolutely delicious.

raw ginger works quite well, and you can add it to the honey lemon tea combo that other mylotters have suggested. some people feel that raw ginger is too strong, but it really does work. if you're able to stand it, you can even eat a small piece of it by itself.

squeeze a couple of limes/lemons into a glass jar, add three cloves of garlic, and top up with honey; pour the lot into a blender and thoroughly blend on high, pour it back into the jar and refridgerate. Take 1 teaspoon every 4 hours. Yeah, yeah, you dont like the garlic but, what do you want, the cold? its your choice, but this works for me and my family

Before you go to bed at night, rub Vicks salve on the bottoms of your feet and put on a pair of white socks. This was guaranteed to be effective from my source mainly for children but I don't know why it wouldn't work for adults too.

Oh really? so, you mean this thing is only good for children and not effective for adults? Well, thanks anyway.
