I work for an international school, which is keen to develop a portal system for communication and information sharing between staff, pupils, parents and management. Their vision is to create four 'Sites' that deliver the relevent specialist information to each of these groups and facilitates communication of shared information between them. I have been asked to investigate possible portal technologies. I have already started to look at MS SharePoint Portal Server, but am not aware of other technologies or the vendors. Are there any recommendations for system that can acheive this?
