It doesn't necessarily equals to living in a primitive hut. It can be 21st century eco-friendly modern adobe. The house will be built with a material called oriented straw structure board.
Straw tubes are split horizontally into pieces at least 4 cm long. Three layers are compressed together with an environmental-friendly adhesive free of formaldehyde. The composition of wheat or rice straw is similar to wood. The abundant cellulose and lignin in straw and stalk can also replace wood materials for panel production, as scientific and technological examinations have proved.
An expo showcasing the benefits of straw and stalk housing has made on May 9-11 this year in Beijing.
Wow, so in the future, we'd live in a straw house? Are you looking forward to it? Please share@@

This sounds cool. In fact better than cement structures. Here we are blending the bet of modern technology with the best of old ones. Thatched houses in olden times were very cool in summers and warmer in winter. The old brains were unmatchable even to this day. So, I think this is a nice idea specially for the rural people who would get a good housing in reasonable expense.
Thanks for sharing this lyn.

Hello, mimpi1911, yeah, i think this is cool, we can not only save part of frost fom being cut, but also recyle the waste straw and stalk in the farmland. You know, here in China, a lot of famers burn them. It will cause pollution of course.
It's reported that, this kind of board or birck will first be applied in decoration inside the house before popularizing.

You know this company--Panel Board Holding(PBH), headquartered in Hague, Netherlands, it produced such kind of house.
And now this company has brought the technology of making construction and package materials from crop straws to China.
Great!
