and didn't wanna come home.
So relaxing even thou I did have to come back Sat. nite to do my paper routes but shot right back out to the campsite right after. They were calling for severe thunderstorms last night so I did end up coming home but really late only to wake up this am to no rain at all. Pissed me off cause I would of stayed last night and slept out under the stars being hubby and his bro came home last night with the tent, leaving me with just the basic essentials. I'm used to camping with no tent and just the bare necessitites so had I known it wasn't going rain, I wouldn't of come home till late tonight. Had tons of fun and all I did was relax and read. Did some hiking (10miles total) as well but just didn't feel like fishing. Hubby and his bro caught a mess of bluegills and a 5lb blue cat that they brought home. July 4th is on a Friday so ya'll know where I'm heading that Thursday to come back on Sun. lol Can't wait for the next camping trip. Wish I would of remembered my camera thou. -grumbling- Would of had a bunch of pics to share with ya'll.
How did e1 else's weekend go? Was the weather as nice for you as it was for me?

Thanks for the warm wb, my friend. I wasn't missed but Tigg and Simba were very miffed that I closed the door to his room and made sure he couldn't open it. I put their feeder out in the kitchen along with the litterbox. They wouldn't come near me for several hours after arriving home. lol

-hangs head in utter shame- I need those smacks in hopes of not forgetting the camera 4th of July weekend. Believe me, I've kicked myself over and over again for forgetting it. lol I have one on my cell phone but it's not that great plus too much of a hassle to have to send it to my pix place over at verizon and then having to download from there and upload again to here. I thought of you while I was relaxing this past weekend, wondering if you were able to enjoy it somewhat.

Glad you had fun. You'll read my discussions I am sure. I had a tornado touch down a few miles away. Then of course I went storm chasing and was in the tornado right after it had left an area. winds at least 60 MPH blew my car onto 2 wheeks as I drove. I've 2 discussions about that. Had a great BBQ today for the wife and I and dad. Had a blast Saturday night with the grandsons at the races. Lots of dicsussions started about that. Good to see ya back and posting. Have a great one.

Yikes!!!! Had no clue about the tornado. Glad to hear your ok thou and had fun at the races. Should know better than to go storm-chasin', Grandpa Bob. lol Today was the perfect day for your bbq. It reached 81 here round 2pm. Supposed to drop back to the mid 50's tomorrow with rain but, then again, it was SUPPOSED to be severe thunderstorms last night. News on tv even warned about them but nothing here. Just responding tonight thou. Have 158 discussions to go thru as of now but sure it will reach 200 by tomorrow morning. lol

The club were we go camping is always crowded on the weekends during the warm months but we have a fave spot at the end of one of many roads thruout the club that is far away from e1 else. There were almost 500 RVs and pop-up campers but only 9 of us tent campers. I remember years ago that ratio was reversed. Enjoy your camping trip this weekend, kareng.

Hey, camping and hiking is always great to have during vacation. I wonder where you went camping. I was glad that you had a great time. I see that the weather was perfect. Did you camp near a brook, pond, or canal? Was it in the woods? I know where I exactly always want to hike and camp. That is near Champlain Canal in the woods right by the railroad tracks in the town of Kingsbury in Upstate New York in the County of Washington. I was always brave, careful, and alert at all costs. I was quiet, too. Especially whenever there was a train approaching. Right?

The name of the place we camped is in the tagline. It used to be a gravel quarry way back in the '50s that someone bought after it closed up and turned into a camping/fishing/swimming/hiking club. Members only thou. There are well over 100 lakes in the club. We camped by a lake called Echo Lake that was at the end of one of the many roads thruout the club and set our tent up in a grove of tall evergreens. Very private, therefore, very quiet. Wish I had remembered my camera cause it'a very beautiful with all the hills and valleys.

Sounds like you had a good time! I'm looking forward to camping again this summer. We took the grandkids for an overnight stay last year, and the 12yo granddaughter was bored silly because there was no TV to watch, but the 7yo grandson loved it! He harrassed ants and played with sticks and had a good ole time! We camped a lot when out own kids were younger, but hadn't done much in the last few years.

lol Sounds like your 12 yr. old granddaughter needs to get back in touch with her inner self if she can't be w/o tv for a few days. My 10 yr. old was upset cause she really wanted to go camping instead of spending the weekend with her Aunt and other cousins. They promised her they were going to go fishing so she went with them only to find out they backed out to go to a party instead, leaving her oldest cousin to watch them. She let them know in clear terms she was NOT happy. I have a feeling next time we go camping and they want her for the weekend, she will flat out refuse to go since she loves camping/fishing/hiking/swimming so much.

Sorry to hear it was so hot in your neck of the woods, Elic. I'd be miserable as well, specially when the humidity pushes 100 as well.

I think I know why it's cooler up here at this time of year and warmer down by you. Someone mentioned something about El Nino, the warm waters off the coast of Calif. are cooler than normal and when that happens, we get the cool weather while you guys burn up. Visa versa if the waters are warmer. I bet it was very miserable at your client's w/o the a/c. I can't take extreme heat/humidity like I used to.

We like to camp too, but we didn't this weekend because we knew alot of people would be out on the river. We like to camp when there aren't alot of people around, we like to be out by ourselves, and when its a holiday weekend, the place we like to go is too crowded. Also we have a boat and we like to fish, but when its crowded like that, its dangerous being on the water, there are alot of intoxicated drivers out there and its easy to get run over or run into I should say. But all in all, we had a good weekend, I went and put flowers out yesterday, and after that me and my family had a cookout and the kids got to go swimming, it was fun. They forecasted rain, and it did rain a little but not much, just had a few showers off and on all day, but it was still hot. Glad you had a good time...

Thanks! Sounds like you had a good time as well. We couldn't go swimming being the water is still too cold but there were a few brave swimmers on the beach. One lifeguard was on duty and I was hoping nothing happened so she wouldn't have to go in the cold water.
