I seen lot of ways a man propse to a girl. But there's nothing like the tradition of Filipinos do it. (As for what I knew) I was surprised that some Filipino tradition still practice in our country. Like in courtship and marriage proposals. I have this sister in law who is abot t get married, well not that early since it will be on december. But I was inspired and touched how she was courted by her boyfriend. It's really a matte hardship per se, since the man realy do chores at the house of my sister in laws, like cleaning the house, doing the laundry and other stuff. Maybe that was or an added value why my sister in law got to like him. And it was sort funny when he proposed to my sister in law. He was so shy and he has to drink alcohol first before he could start to talk. It was just a simple proposal but he said so much of touching words in filipino of course. It was also touching when he asked for the hand of my sister in law to my parents in law. The filipino tradition called it pamamanhikan. It is a practice where the parents of the man meets the parents of the girl. They will bring some food and talk to one another. Giving the assurance of the parents that the daughter will be taken cared of. Something like that. It was very touching indeed. Now I want to know how was you partner proposed to you? Did you expect the proposal? If you are the man how do you plan to propose to your mate? Was it really hard?

Well, we were at Christmas at her parents house in another town from our country. We went to a silver shop with the excuse that i had a surprise for her: i stated that i want to buy her some earrings. After we got there, i told her my brother wants to buy a ring for her fiancée as a present, and that her hands were like my brother's girl. So i made up a small story like how i have no clue what women want and that she should pick a ring that she truly likes so she chose one; so i also bought the earrings and that way she did not suspect a thing. After a couple of weeks we were back home, sitting on my bed and she was scared that she was about to go in the exam seasons and being the first year with too universities at a time, she got scared... so i told her to close her eyes, and i got my stashed ring, and told her to open her eyes, and i showed her the ring box - it was a nice, black one, like you see in the movies - and asked her if she knows what that is; i did not really waited for an answer, so after that i shortly asked her "the question" and she said yes... So we will be getting married sometime soon. Take care !

Well it's an interesting and touching tradition over there. At least the man showed his sincerity in the proposal by doing all the house chores and all that. I think it will make your sister-in-law and her parents happy too! For me, I think I am going to propose to my future wife in a modern way. Bring her to somewhere romantic, give her a ring and so forth.
