Im an electrical student from India. The starting torque is improved by making the following ajustments: 1.Intially,by changing the rail track i.e by making a light slots(outer groove)on track up to some distance eg:(10mts). 2.secondly,by changing the locomotive wheel i.e instead of smooth surface make it inner groove so that it exactly fix in to rail track groove so that it avoids slipings during starting and stopping. by this,we can improve starting torque by atleast 25% and it reduces power saving. Ranga.
