The gas price increase fever, that is. I can't believe how high the increase of the gas price here in Indonesia is. by 30%!! And we're one of the top 3 oil producers in the world. I can't help but think that it's a bit ironic. So, right now the price for premium gas increased from IDR4.500 to IDR6.000 per liter! Did your country have increase in gas price too? How much does it cost for gas there?

Here in the U.S. our gas prices have finally gone over the $4.00 per gallon mark. At least that's how it is in my state, Virginia. I'm sure they're much higher in places like California and New York. All this time, the oil executives are patting themselves on the back, laughing and cheering because they're making $1 millon a year or more. If we're paying so much for gasoline because of the cost of a barrel of oil, how is it that the oil companies are making record-breaking profits? They could lower the price of oil and it wouldn't hurt them a bit. Of course, they wouldn't be making the huge profits they're making now. Gee, I can't imagine going from $1,000,000.00 a year to, say, maybe $750,000.00 per year in salary. How would they ever pay for gas themselves? I am being sarcastic, you know. This insanity has to stop now!

I get your sarcasm. If gas goes up, everything else will go up. Come to think of it, gas and oil are the natural resources that have huge impact on almost every aspect of our lives. Including, of course, politics and economy which are always a big issue in any part of the world. And who has control of gas and oil? the gas and oil companies. and by that, it might be even safe to say that companies like exxon, total, etc have power over the world, or at least over the financial situations.

$4=IDR36.000, that's 6 times the gas price here. But then again, you might have a higher minimum wage rate. You live in the USA too?
