Does a family pet prefer you over everybody else?

I've noticed our cat loves me but hates everyone else most of the time. He even sleeps in my room half the time. He seems like he just couldn't live without me sometimes, because he's constantly wanting to be picked up and scratched behind the ears... and carried around the house.
Do you have any pets who prefer you over anybody or anything else?

My dog is a one-woman dog. She loves me to bits. We're very bonded, and we've spent many happy hours training, playing since I got her. I also feed her, so I'm sure there's a good bit of 'cupboard love' in there, too. ;)
Our cat actually prefers my SIL. I have no idea why, since she's rarely home and is constantly trying to get away from the cat. The cat will yowl for hours when she leaves and break in her room. She'll follow my SIL around the entire time she's home and crawl all over her. It's really truly bizarre, and it's really quite funny.
Sounds like your cat is a sweet guy. It's funny how animals pick their person or people.

My cat really likes me, but he is indifferent ot my husband and son. He got out of the house once and disappeared. No one could find him, but he started meowing when he heard my voice. He was undr a neighbors deck.
