But, I just washed those dishes!

Do you ever find yourself doing the same thing, day in and day out? As if you're going in one giant, never ending circle? Like cleaning the same spot in your house? Or, scooping the cat litter, when you just got through scooping it fifteen minutes ago? Or, picking up the same toys, day in and day out? The same old thing, just a new day.
That happens to me a lot lately. Especially today.
Today, I got into a real cleaning frenzy and everything got the once over. I cleaned everything, including the pile of dishes that's been sitting there since last night. Actually the cleaning frenzy started with the dishes.
But, by the time I got finished serving up dinner to my daughter, all the dishes were in the sink again. I'm not sure why it takes so many dishes to serve one little kid, but in my house it does. I guess it's cause I don't like sitting food on the counter, so everything has to be put on a dish.
I have a sink full of dishes waiting for me, for tomorrow morning. Same thing happened to me the other day. And, now it's repeating.
So, tomorrow morning, I'll be doing dishes again, in between updating MyLot posts. Maybe I'll swap out the dishes for paper plates and spend the hour usually reserved for hand washing dishes into putting up more posts.
What do you think? What would you do if you didn't have to do the same tasks time and again, each day?

Sometimes I find myself doing the same thing. When you live with my mother you kind of have to go behind her sometimes and put everything back where it belongs. If you don't things would just pile up.
I hate doing the same thing everyday but it's not like I can really change it either. Sometimes I give up on doing it but I realize that some people can't do that. I guess you could always try passing it off onto someone else for a change.

that reminds me of what i had to endure last december. my family (mom, dad and bro) were away so i had to live with my big sis at home, just the two of us. it was my semester break. had to stay at home the whole month.
she always leave her dirty dishes in the sink and on the table. i rarely went to the kitchen to eat. usually i just grab a glass, open the fridge for some cold water, cheese and cold cuts, shut the fridge door, gulp down the water, wash the glass and stay away from the kitchen until night. she went back from work and scolded me for leaving the kitchen messy.
*sigh*
so my routine changed to washing her dishes and eat my cheese and cold cuts. i packed up my stuff and went back to college ASAP just so i won't be blamed for whatever thing happened in the house (two weeks is enough)

So unfair that big sis would blame you for her messy habits! My spouse is smarter than to say such things to me. Sometimes siblings can get away with saying such things. Things will be better soon, I'm sure.

Doing the dishes is one of the things that my husband usually does. We have a dishwasher, though, so it's pretty easy for him to do. Our two year old usually takes the dirty dishes from the table to my husband for him to put in the dishwasher, too.
I try to break up what I do, so that it doesn't feel like I'm always doing the same thing over and over. I will do the things that have to be done each day in a slightly different order sometimes, too, to make it into something different. It helps break up the monotony that can otherwise be created when you are a stay at home mom.

I hear ya! I thought that I was the only one who got into the monotonous tasks. I just assumed everyone else liked those little chores! LOL! It helps talking with other moms who go through the same things.

You make a really good point. Small repetitive tasks do keep the brain trained and entertained. Had not thought of that before.

Oh yes I certainly do, not just with the cleaning but with the whole of my life. Sometimes I feel like I am stuck on one big merry go round that will not stop and the same things keep happening day after day and I am just getting older and older. I keep telling myself that I will change something somewhere, but it never seems to happen because of one thing or another and so it just goes around and around!

I know that feeling!
Some days are more that way
for me than others.
Some days I just give up and deal
with the clutter.
Other days, the clutter bothers me
to no end.

ive had this happen too where i will have washed the dishes and taken the time to do it by hand, and a few hours later the sink is full again. I know im not the one who used the dishes because i hardly ever actually use plates or anything. It gets really irritating and its unnessisary. i live with room mates so when i first started out i was cleaning up after myself and everyone else. but things have calmed now...i simply dont worry about it because i dont use dishes unless its something that requires the use of a dish otherwise the item will not be eaten. that way none of the mess is mine and im not obligated to clean anything but my room and perhaps some house work.

Yes! Yes! I hear you beautyqueen26. Right now my sink is full of dishes. I have been trying to decide since midnite if I should do them tonite or in the morning. I think the morning will win (it's 2am now). I don't have a diswasher. I don't mind doing dishes by hand. We have a tiny kitchen. It seems like the minute I empty the sink my bf will come with more dishes from another room. I don't think he does this on purpose. It really bugs me tho.

I would love to not have to wash dishes several times a day every day. I sometimes wonder how we end up using so many dishes. I have thought about paper plates a few times, but I never break down and buy them and use them instead. So, I guess I am stuck with the never ending pile of dishes and the never ending pile of laundry. *Sigh*

It's the daily tasks that keep us grounded, even if we hate them. They're the habits that make up our lives and ultimately propel us forward.

Yes,I believe that everyone of us in the world have to do the similar or the same action everyday. If not, that will happen good or bad thing that day,I think. For me ,I like this kind of common life.I think this is a kind of happiness. So,don't complain.Doctor help the patients, teacher teach the stutents, housewives do housework, students do homeworks, and everyone in the world have to have meals everyday. And everymorning we have to get up at the same time and then wash and brush then to to work, and so on.So,the history is circle and the season is circle.Every thing in the nature is circle.I think this is a especially and comnon fact.We should respect this rule.
