Why do we have that fear?Obviously, it is dangerous and we do care about safety.But for me,I have get away that fear and I will share here my principles;
Current flows, that means you need to have that both lines connected to your body to feel the current.That was I am using, I can repair electrical layout in our house like damage switches,outlets,bulb and even put a new connections.Holding only one ends of the live wires will not cause you as long as you are away from grounds.

I'm not afraid of electric shock as long as I still not yet experienced a severe electric shock.
Just kidding. I'm still afraid of electric shock even it is severe or mild. But i experienced the mild one. It did not hurt me instead it makes my finger numbness but just for minutes then it back to normal. Electric shock is not just harmful but it can also help people. Like what I saw from movies and televisions show that electric shock from hospital machine can revive a heart beat of the patient.
