Do You Get Zero (0) Responses Sometimes?

Waiting For A Response... - A statue with hand resting on his chin, seems like waiting for something..

This is a question for all here - veterans and newbies. To date, in all the discussions you have started, was there a time that no one responded to your posts? If yes, how did you feel? What was your initial reactions? Honestly, I had a few already since I started less than 15 days ago. At first, I got sad, because I thought no one was interested, no one even took the time to even make a one liner response. But, as days passed by, I grew accustomed. Perhaps, my topics were not worth a response. I told myself at least, now, with my topics lately, many have replied.. Be honest, did you ever get a Zero?

Yes, when i first started in myLot I had one or two discussion with zero response. Feel sad at first but I realized that my topic was too specific like a TV show that maybe not all members here know. Now, after a while I got lot of friends who response to my post. And I try to make a wider topic discussion that lots of people can answer.

Not yet. But I have one I posted today that only has one response. I thought it was a pretty good question too. What advice would you give to a new graduate? Seemed like a good question to me. Oh well.

I'm a newbie and I've posted one where no one responded. There was another discussion I started where I got no responded but I got one of my friends to do a response. It feels really bad when no one responds to my discussions. I feel as though I'm not interesting enough for people on here. It also makes me think twice about postings a new discussion because I don't want it to happen again. I don't even know if I get paid for the responses to my discussions, but I still would like to think that I'm a little interesting.

hey, we are getting paid for every response we get from the discussions we started..Maybe by this time, you know that... every person is interesting in their own little way...

I think I have got 2 discussions now that no one has responded to but I figure oh well. Maybe my next one will get a lot of resposes. I don't respond to all discussios why should I expect people to respond to all of mine? I think it just takes time and some getting used to. We'll get the hang of it.

yeah of course i did. especially when i was just starting here in mylot. my first few topics got zero responses. so i thought maybe i was not good in starting topic. i thought also that maybe im out of place here and nobody would be interested with my discussions. but when i have good ideas in my mind i post them here and suddenly in my surprise i got more responses. but still i don't start discussions often until now. only when i know i got great idea of the topic. coz if not it will be useless again.

Yep! In fact, right now I have two discussions I made earlier that I was sure were going to get responses.. but have yet to have been touched yet! They all do eventually respond though, it's just sometimes.. it takes a while. I suppose it depends how catchy of a discussion title you have, and well how interesting the discussion itself is! I basically feel.. suprised. I consider some of the discussions I make pretty good, while others.. may be lacking. But! I more then make up for it when responding to others!

I've had a couple with zero responses, though not for a while. I've had to resist the urge to PM my friends and ask them to go and add a response, any response, just so I don't feel like such a loser LoL

Yes, I've had several topics with zero posts, I still do sometimes. I think it's normal, and I think that everyone does sometimes (although I haven't read many of the other answers yet, maybe I'm wrong!!) I never take it personally, I just figure that either the topic just isn't interesting enough, maybe someone's posted a similar topic recently so people are fed up with replying to it, or perhaps I've posted at a time when there's not many other mylotters online. This is a bit of a problem sometimes when you're outside the US as your timezone might mean that you're on when most people are sleeping. Then your discussion only appears in the recent discussion list when there are not many people online, so people might just not be aware of your discussion. (That's my theory anyway, and it keeps me happy, so I'll stick to it :) I wouldn't fret about it, you win some, you lose some!

I am a newnie. I haven't started any topic or discussion yet so I don't have one without any response technically. I am still organizing my interests up to now and also just posting responses to interesting discussions which makes organizing my interests easier and more profitable.

Oh yes, I did get a Zero response. I felt so disgusted with myself. I often ask myself why did i ever think of posting a topic that no one would care to comment. I feel i was so shallow. That's why when responding, i first go to "discussions with no response" and i try to comment even for just a sentence or two. I know how it feels if your discussion never had a response, so i try to respond as many as i could.

Up to date, i only started 3 discussion. So far, members are responding well. If ever there will be a discussion who has no response, I guess the topic is not interesting. So next time around, I will think of a topic which is interesting and many can relate into.

Please do not feel disappointed or dishearted. It happens with most of the members. Initially, I also used to get zero responses to my discussions, I would feel very upset, seeing that no one bothered to reply to my discussion. Then, I started a discussion like you and I was told that there are so many discussions by various members, at a particular point of time and number of new discussions keep on increasing every minutes, so there is a possibility that I may not get any response to my discussion. But gradually, I learnt the ethics and methods of getting responses to my discussions here and at present it do not happen that I get zero response to any of my discussions. No doubt over the period, I have come to know how to start a quality discussion, which can elicit responses and I have added many friends in my list, who always come in support of my discussions and vice versa. If any of your discussions has zero response, please let know, I will try to reply to that.

Sometimes I get zero responses, but usually it gets a response in a month or two. I think a lot of it depends on what category you post it in. But even if I don't get responses, it dosen't really matter much.

hello eihdra, yup i got lots of 'em LOL i honestly dont mind whether somebody replied or not, to me i used that to express my feelings/emotion at that very day or must i say very time so it helps me to feel better and relaxed afterwards THAT alone is already the greatest reward of all coz i have let go whatever i had in mind or heart. i dont compete with anybody here nor would like a lot of response or will it make me feel less if nobody give me a look it is ok to me and if ever they do replied i am very happy but either way it is ok. anyway, i am very happy knowing that you do get a lot of responses out here it sure feels good knowing that you get what most are looking for in a topic. keep it up. takecare!

Sadly I do have one to which no one responded. not a soul. I felt badly but there was one other discussion that had been posted earlier that was on the same exact topic.since then I have been getting great responses to my discussions.I think you have to be here for awhile for your friends to get to know you then you start getting responses.
