I am so offended by this. I have read in another article that the testaments did not come from those who had distributed the Christian pamphlets in Ohr Yehuda but that they did not know where they came from.
Israeli Jews Burn New Testament

Israeli Jews burned copies of the New Testament after a deputy mayor called for a purge of missionary texts. Israel’s daily Ma’ariv carried a front-page story Tuesday about a bonfire of the New Testament and other Christian texts held in Ohr Yehuda on Monday at the prompting of Deputy Mayor Uzi Aharon. Asked about Monday’s incident in an Army Radio interview, Aharon acknowledged calling on community members to throw out missionary literature delivered to their homes but denied involvement in the book-burning or knowing that Christian bibles were included.
He said he acted alone and not on behalf of the municipality. A lawyer representing Israel’s messianic Jewish community demanded that police investigate the incident, arguing that it could incite violence. Aharon noted that Israeli law also places curbs on proselytizing Jews and said those who had distributed the Christian pamphlets in Ohr Yehuda should be prosecuted.

Such an aggressively non-Christian act is so hostile, and shows the true mentality of those involved. Pretty sad, in a world were we really need peace and harmony. I think some humans haven't evolved enough to envision and promote a world where diverse cultures can live together in friendship and respect for each other.

I agree. They have not evolved enough. This will probably always be true.

What would you do if i write a book and in it i will say that i am the second son of god and i am the successors of jesus.. I will give a new name to the religion and tell that you all the people who had followed christ must follow me as i am his successor.. i will hire few people and say them to give you that book.. what will you do with that book?

People are going to do what people are going to do. They may burn all the things they want, but they can't take things out of the hearts of true believers, in whatever religion. I am not going to waste time being offended, or shocked.

Oh well, I guess it's between them and God. They obviously weren't reading it so why not use it to keep warm? At least they weren't chanting in the streets and burning flags.

I agree. However, I don't think it should be against the law either. Like I said, it's really between them and God, He will punish them or not for doing it.
I'm a Christian yet, I believe anyone who does not believe as I do should have the right to protest if they desire, as long as they don't get violent or make threats. It really doesn't bother me because I trust God will deal with them.

It is far worse to burn the Word of God than to burn a flag.
