Msg and aspartame have similar chemical compounds, they are both cosidered EXCITOTOXINS americans consumed about 1 million pounds of msg in 1950 today they Consume about 300 times that over 30% of people are found to be extra sensitive to msg if consuming over 5 grams in one sitting 90% of the popultaion are oversensitive if consuming more than 10 grams US FDA defines MSG as "naturally ocurring" so it has it on its GRAS list (grenerally regarded as safe) TOP adverse reaction to msg vomiting diarrhea heart rate changes/ arrhythmias /increased heart rate stomach cramps mood changes fatigue and dizziness plus many many more the WORST OFFENDER FOR MSG IS KFC!!! for more info on what foods to avoid go to www.truthinlabeling.org

These are both additives that I try to avoid. MSG is notorious for causing headaches. I am diabetic and I even avoid aspartame and other artificial sweetners due to bad reactions. I also find that the side effects increase for those of us with mood swing problems and intestinal problems. It is time consuming to have to read the ingredients on each label of anything we are considering purchasing. I will continue to try to avoid those additives.
