Hi, i'm a belgian student and not so familiar with the american politics. So can some loyal (or not loyal) american citizens tell me more about the american politics. A bit history does not harm, but i rather focus on the politics these days. So how about the republicans, Obama, Bush, Clinton, electoral systems, etc,...
Thanks

What the heck. I guess I can get this started. There are basically two parties in modern American Politics - The republicans and the Democrats. The democrats at presnt have 2 members of their party running for the spot of presidential candidate and the republicans have their candidate all ready decided. The Democrats are still trying to decide Between Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. The republicans have John McCaine.
It would seem that according to the Numbers, Barrack Obamma is going to be the Democratic candidate, But Hillary is still hanging tough and has not given in to this notion yet. The democrats have, In my book, really screwed things up by not letting 2 of the 50 states be allowed in the actual first round of the selection process for their candidate. Hillary still wants those two states to be included in the vote totals somehow and Barack dose not.

Today apparently the Democratic Party in the good old USA is going to have a meeting to decide what to do with the 368 Delegates from Florida and Michigan. You know when I first responded, I though a lot of other Mylotters would contribute here. It has been a long bitter election process so far and there is still a lot of Americans may not give much thought to what is going on in this election until right before they vote. Ah, Human Nature.
Have a nice day.
