I just read a Readers Digest article www.rd.com/airbags about an 18 year old Guy who was killed in a Smash when the truck he was a passenger in hit a car head on..He was the only Fatality. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt. The thing is,neither was he protected by an Airbag,as his Friend's truck was a rebuilt insurance writeoff, but they didn't reinstall Airbags-the Airbag compartment that might have saved him had been packed with paper and simply closed up again! I was horrified to read this-I'd assumed that a writeoff was just that-the vehicle, once the airbag deployed, was a goner..but apparently not to a scamming car workshop..One more thing to look out for when considering buying a used car-recognise the airbag warning diagnostic light when turning the key and make sure it lights and goes out ..Have you heard of cases like this? What would You do if You found a Vehicle You'd bought in good faith had been sold to you like this?
