They would always say "Chivalry is Dead". Gone are the days when women will really have the benefit of being treated like women by men in terms of being given due respect. In an overloaded bus, the sitting men will not mind seeing a women standing beside them. They have been used to this anyway! The "Ladies First in a long queue, does not hold water anymore. Who cares, we all did our best to to be the first one to be served here so why we men would give way to women???
I am kinda blessed to be with an organization who treats women with respect and love. Whenever we have gatherings, our men would gladly stand to give their seats to women and would sacrificially wait till all the women have gotten their share of food before the men queue for their turns. At least I would say, after all..Chivalry is not totally dead!!!
How about you, do you think we really have to follow "Ladies First" even in some special circumstances???

I like to see ladies first type things happen. I still see a lot of people doing the simple things like opening doors for women. I am a Southerner which is probably where it is most alive still in the US. When I am in my hometown which is smaller I see it often. I live in a larger city, and I don't see it as much while in town. For the most part though, you can still tell that women are highly respected around here. People don't go way out of their way to open car doors and things like that anymore, but women are well respected and rarely have to open their own doors.

I agree with you that these days, men are no longer following the "LADIES FIRST"... They don't care whether the women are standing in the bus or falling line at the back.. Since the new policy these days is "FIRST COME FIRST SERVE".. Don't care whether your a women or men.. Only those who consider themselves as a "GENTLE MAN" who respect/ believe about the "LADIES FIRST"..

In our community our brothers do the same things that you have said..during our meetings they will let sises have their chairs if they see them standing, help us in carrying heavy things, allow us to eat first, assists us in going down from a high place..i can really say that there are still some left behind..^_^ I think this a natural thing for women..we are treated special..

Yes! there are still many men who treats women as they should be. It's natural for women to feel elated when treated the special way! thanks for your thoughts.
