Name your favourite ancient civilization.

My favourite ancient civilization are with no doubt the Romans. I think the way they've managed to build the Roman Empire is worth some respect. Not only had they very skilful and organised battle techniques, also their technology was ways ahead from other civilizations. My second favourites are the Inca's from Peru whose high-technologed civilization has come to a tragic end, too bad. So what about you?

I prefer the ancient Greeks, because I have studied them. I have read some of their plays. I have seen some of their wonderful sculptures and pieces of pottery which have survived two and a half thousand years. The ancient Greeks won many wars on land and battles at sea. They invented democracy. Their style of building has been much copied. Their philosphers have always influenced great thinkers. I like the Romans too but much of what they did was adapted from what the Greeks did first.

hi paid2write... i like also the Greeks, the Greek mythology...i agree Romans just adapted from Greek that why they also have Roman mythology...but sad to say i think Roman influenced is more now than Greek example the Roman Numerals we dont see Greek numerals being use today isn't it? also the roman calendar, the roman catholic church etc... SMILE ALWAYS...^_^

Oh this is a hard one... I like different civilizations for different reasons: I love the native Americans because of their dedication and love for nature and their beliefs regarding both the animals and plants. I love the Greeks for all their mythology and cultural developments as well as structures. I love the Phoenicians for all their progress in the naval vessels. I love the Romans for their organized armies and great road development.
