New model of cell phone when introduce to market has its own different unit, yet its features is almost the same, they have only additional stuffs in there. I was thinking of computer software, computer can then be upgraded the OS into new one as long as it is still capable,so something like cell phone unit can be done the same thing.Any idea?

It can be done but will cause you as much as just like buying new one so why not just buy new one if you want to have an updated one. Actually cellphone manufacturers will not stop making new models if we people will not stop buying them. You see the models are changing so fast and I can really sense that it is not worth buying the latest model now at a very high price only to see it's already outdated in few months or so. why waste so much money for a cellphone when all you need from a cellphone is a gadget you can use to communicate. For as long as my cellphone can give me this service and it is not very very old then I don't change my unit. Maybe if all cellphone users will unite and stop buying new units, this cellphone manufacturers will think twice before developing new models. That way, our cellphones will not be easily outmoded because no new models are out in the market yet.

I see your point. That's why I was still using 3310.LOL.Since my purpose is for text and call as well as email. But since people like to be on top of somebody, specially Filipino, most of us save money just to have new models of cell phone.
