Hi as2006! I have searched in the internet because I really don't know what a Hoopoe looks like. It is a beautiful bird. I have learned that it is a relative of the Kingfisher. Thatnks for the information, now I know that it is Israel's National Bird. Take Care and God Bless! Celebrate Life!

Thanks, that's interesting. I wasn't sure what a hoopoe looked like so I looked it up. Here's a link for it. www.birdsofbritain.co.uk/bird-guide/hoopoe.asp Well it seems we get them in Britain too. I've seen birds like this in Israel before and I've always thought they looked really pretty, but I've never seen one here, I'll look out for them! Why was the Hoopoe chosen I wonder?
