I absolutely hate talking on the phone. I have never been a big phone person. I'm not sure why. I avoid calling people, or them calling me. I guess I just feel awkward on the phone. Calling to make appointments is even harder, it takes me days before I finally pick up the phone and call. Do you enjoy or detest talking on the phone, or making appointments? Why or why not?I'm curious if there are any myLotters out there like me.

I am, I am I hate talking on the phone. I do ok when someone calls me although I usually want to keep it short, but if I have to call others I have a hard time doing it. I usually get others to do it for me. I have no clue as to why I detest calling others. I've never liked talking on the phone. If I can avoid doing so I do. Like you I feel awkward and very uncomfortable. It just not natural for me. I have trouble trying to order a pizza or other forms of take out/delivery let alone calling for making appointments or questions about things. It me feel on the defensive and very unsure of myself.

You are definitely not alone, lol. I'm like that and so is my husband. We rarely make calls. We have a landline and a pre-paid cell phone for emergency purposes as you never know what may happen when you are on the road. There are hardly any public phones anymore;) I think it stems back to my childhood. May parents were thrifty savers and cut ends wherever possible. We children were not allowed to have lengthy conversations on the phone and rarely could call our friends. In our area local calls were not automatically included in your basic rate and calls were expensive. I'm just so used to use alternative means of communication. I don't pick up the phone just for a chitchat, lol. That said, since I moved to the US I have an often hour long call once a week with my mom. She doesn't know how to use the computer and mail takes too long. She calls me though now that it is cheap for them, too, lol. But hey, what can you say, it's my mom;)

Yes there is at least one other myLotter like you. I am like that. I don't have a phone at home now or a cell phone. I would much rather communicate by email. I can also get and send texts from my laptop. When I was a teen I used to chat a lot on the phone. After I had left school I started to get some strange anonymous phone calls. I thought I knew who was doing it but could not prove it, and this may be why I no longer like to use the phone. I had to get used to anwering the phone at work in the past but I never felt quite at ease using it. Now I will put off having to make an official phone call and will always write or call in person if I can, rather than use the phone.
