Today is my mother's birthday she would have been 55, she died at 37. I think about her everyday and wish she was still here, wish she could have seen me get married, wish she had a chance to see her grandsons. Happy Birthday mom, I love you.

I'm sorry for your lost. Especially she's someone so dear to you. I'm sure she's happy for you and would like to see her grandsons too. Live your life to the fullest and be strong and caring for your family. I think your mum surely will very please with it. Take care.

Thank you. I show her picture to my boys often and tell them about her, just so they know who she was. It's not the same, but I want my boys to know who their grandmother was. Thanks for your kind words.

You're welcome. You are doing great and your children should know their grandmother in details too. Take care. Have a nice day.

I think you've started a great discussion, especially because you suffered that loss eighteen years ago, but she gave you the strength of character to share the personal feelings on her birthday with us on MYLOT. I would think that everybody reading your message immediately thought about their own parents, especially their mother, and there might even have been a few tears here and there. People sometimes forget the great debt we owe our parents, and that includes all the people who do the caring when we are growing up, from grandparents to aunts and uncles, and even older children who end up doing the parenting for one reason or another. I was lucky enough to spend some of my childhood with both sets of grandparents, and the overriding aspect is the shared memories of the love I got from the extended family, and the things I learnt along the way. Hopefully I have passed some of those things on to my three sons, and it's good that vmenard made us all stop and think of those we love who may not still be here with us.

Thank you. Your sons are very fortunate to have such a thoughful, caring father. A close, strong family is paramount in the well being of a child growing up. Familycan get you through all the tough times in life, cherish it.
