What is your favorite and best loved Aesop Fables?

When I was young I love to read a short story with animals as characters that talk and act like human beings. It tells a lesson and it often ends with a proverb. The Dog and the Reflection in the River is my favorite and best loved Aesop fables because it's about envying other's luck that could cause you to lose what you already achieved.

Aesop fable have warm the heart of many around the world. Children don't get tired of hearing these stories.My most favorite is the story about the young crab and his mother.I love the moral attached to this fable. " Do not tell others how to act unless you can set a good example "Take care always dear. muwah!

The tortoise and the hare was one of my favorites, where the boastful hare wagers that he can beat the tortoise in a race, only to fall asleep midrace after a huge lead and get passed by the slower tortoise... whom the hare finds waiting at the finish line after finishing his nap. And the moral of the story is... (Thanks for the thread!)
