Your daughter at 4 1/2 years old asks to us the computer to work on a specific program. I used to ask to draw or play outside. Any similar experiences?

My little sister whom is now seven has been using the computer for along time now we introduced her to the computer when she was 2 and let her learn things from various programs by the time she started school she was above average and the teacher she done the testing for at school her in kindergarten said she must have had a good preschool/headstart because she done so well. I took alot of pride in that I taught her well which I did teach her things all the time. She now loves playing games online at Yahoo!Kids with other children games like go fish and several other ones. I am thinking of giving her my older model computer to take home so she will have her own computer and leave my mothers alone. She feels so grown up using the computer a "big girl" so I am glad she is learning to do things better and maybe make a few friends that are children from her school since they have a safe school friendly site just for kids her age.

I love my daughter's interest in the computer. It will help her learn words. Once she does, she can start reading up on Wikipedia about anything that interests here. It will be great. Maybe she can even mylot.

My son has been using the computer to play games since he was about 3 years old. By that age he knew how to open up internet explorer and use the bookmarks to get to his page and shut it all down when he was done.

I know what you mean. My son turned three in March and is forever taking over the computer when I go to do things. He logs me out and then goes onto the internet to the games sites. When I was his age I played "house" with my dolls!
