Man, I love Boiled Peanuts! They are quite possibly my favorite snack of all time. (Donuts aren't a snack, they are a food group in and of themselves.) Ever tried them? Do you like them? Oh, they are wonderful and a true southern dish. I got a friend to try them, from New York, and he said they were too tough. I asked him if he took them out of the shell and he got kinda quiet and said no very softly. DUH! You gotta boil them in the shell and then take them out as you eat them...Man they are WONDERFUL!

You can't go wrong with a good snack of boiled peanuts. I'm more of a salted peanuts guy. However, sometimes I just get that craving for a bag of boiled peanuts. Either way, peanuts are truly addicting. There is nothing better than a good baseball game, peanuts, and some sunflower seeds.

Oh my, I think that you have hit on something that is better than donuts by far. I really like the cajun ones that they are selling at the convenience stores now.

Must be a "southerner" thing! LOL I'm not a big fan of them to be honest. I tried them one time when visiting my gram in Alabama. I thought they were kinda gross to be honest!

It certainly is a Southern thing, no doubt about that. Down here we don't play with hockey either, kinda nasty since that's something that comes out of a horses butt...LOL, j/k. My grandmother called it just that...horse hockey and I couldn't resist. I actually like watching hockey. Thanks for the response Hockeygal4ever.

I love the summer when all the peanut stands are open on the side of the road! Our son is highly allergic to peanuts so we don't bring them in the house but if he isnt with us we stop and get some every once in a while. They are indeed the best snack going!

Oh my dear, yes I do love boiled peanuts, very much and in fact this is one snack favorite of mine. It's rich in protein and in fact here in the Philippines, students are encouraged to eat peanuts because they say it is the food of the brain. It's so funny to heart stories of people eating boiled peanuts without removing from the shell! That really made me laugh out loud! Ha! Ha! Ha! But you know, I feel quite sad whenever the topic of peanuts is being brought out coz you know my doctor told me to put off eating peanuts for the time being because I'm starting to feel arthritis on my fingers. So sad because that would mean saying goodbye to boiled peanuts which I so love to eat during snack time!

Well, I quite like boiled peanuts myself too. But peanuts are high in protein. Hmm... so, unless you are exercising a lot, take care not to overeat. Proteins can make you fat and gain weight when you have too much of it.

I also love eating boiled peanuts. In fact it's a very common street snacks here. I like my mom to cook it for us. It's a healthy snack in my opinion. At least it's better than potato chips etc. I love China

It could be an acquired taste Hatley, and maybe I just never had much of a choice since I have been eating them since I was very young. Thanks for the response.
