I just caught Shirley on the couch with the remote, and that seems to be what she's wondering.
Cats are always good for coming up with something cute and silly. What has your cat done to amuse you today?

My kitty slept most of the day and the funniest thing she did was to flip out because her water dish was empty. I have never seen a cat get so obnoxious over not having water in their dish...but she does. Never mind that dog dish is right on the other side of the space...a mere 5 feet or so...she has sniffed at it a little but apparently deemed it only worthy of sticking the tip of her tail into briefly.

Oh gosh, that is funny, and the absolute truth! I think it must be some kitty-code that is passed down genetically.
The half in and out the door thing happens every day here. She will want in the back door, so you open it and she'll stand there rubbing on the edge like it's the best scratcher in the world. If you shut the door, she'll be at it again, wanting you to open. I think we'll go through that drill at least three times before she deems it fit for her to walk through that space.
