I have spent days on the internet trying to find an answer to a legal questioin regarding Estate Laws. The websites state free legal questions/answers, but after giving the information, there is a charge to receive an answer (lowest $15). The one that did reply stated that I could turn the matter over to an attorney and let them drain the assets! Wow... this is not a good answer! First of all, I want it simple, no going back to court, and most importantly is the fact that my Mom trusted me to do what is right for the family! My Question: As Administrator of my Mom's Estate, how do I go about removing my name from the estate. The property has an IRS Tax Lien (family member) attached to the property and there is no clear title. I have exhaused all efforts of trying to solve this problem with family members (7 children). The family does not want to help with expenses that I have been personally paying for 7 years. I am ready to let go of this burden! Do you actually know of a website that does give Free legal advice!

You need to go talk to a real live lawyer. Call your state bar association for a referral. No competent attorney is going to give you good advice based on a questionnaire you submit online. The ethical issues are just too great. As for free advice, attorneys give advice. That is their stock in trade. They can no more give it way for free than a baker gives away free bread. Oh, its just one question. No it's not. It has all kinds of issues involved. That requires research which takes time away from other cases. It might require drafting a letter or something, which also takes time away from other cases. Attorneys sell advice. It's what they spent 3 years of law school and hundreds of thousands of dollars learning. Please don't expect complicated answers to complicated issues for free. Yes, estate questions are some of the most complicated law out there.
