Very rarely have I shopped online muc. About 6 months ago I have bought a dress once online from America and I have also bought a couple of things from ebay but that is about the extent of my online shopping. What about you, are you a big online shopper or have you never done it before? Do you have any great online shopping sites, that you would like to share. I would probably shop online more if I knew some great trustworthy sites to shop at.

Actually ever since my first online shop, I have now about 90 deal something. Our university is in the rumor area, it's really not that convenient to go shopping outside. Thus if I can, I prefer shopping online. But I seldom buy shoes or clothes. I would like to have try before buying those things. Thus in those occasions I will always go out. About the site, I only do it on Taobao, a website that's similar to eBay, but in Chinese of course.

You're the second person who has mentioned Taobao, it must be popular in China, so I take it other countries can't shop there? It is hard to buy shoes and clothes online I agree as you can't try them on.

Yes, it's quite popular here in China. Taobao is one of the largest online shopping site in China. Taobao to us is what eBay to you. I think if you insist, you can shop on Taobao. But it will be inconvenient.

Very rare too. I got some shoes and pants at ebay but I prefer to shop in the mall. Every now and then, there are huge sales and it is very nice since we really see the product personally. But, my husband is really an online shopper, all his PC gadgets and some personal stuff are from ebay!

Yes I think it is alot more fun shopping at the mall, get out and about and try things on. Online shopping is convenient too I guess, but you also have to wait for the product to be delivered. Atleast when you shop at the mall you know what you are purchasing and you get to take it home straight away.

It's a shame that we have to worry about hackers stealing our money. That happened to my mum, luckily though the bank reimbursed her money on her credit card.

I do most of my shopping online. Most times I can get a better deal on things and have a lot more selection too. Sometimes even the stores that are in the area have a cheaper price on something when purchased online. I've run into this with Circuit City and Best Buy at times, so I purchase online and pick it up at the store. The sites I buy from most often are amazon.com, ebay, buy.com and newegg.com. I get a lot of foods from bulkfoods.com, veganessentials, sfherb.com and bobsredmill.com.

I rarely shop online. The only thing I've bought online is a couple of e-books for a few dollars and that too from what I earned here on myLot.

I've been very careful with my e-book purchases too and haven't regretted my choices. They were quite cheap and well worth what I paid for them. Most of them were educational stuff that I could use for my school work.

Hello Sviswan, you sound like a very smart shopper. What do you think of e books, do you find they are worth there money? I bought an e book once on how to make money at home, it was a total waste of money for me, it cost more then a few dollars too.

No, I do not prefer on-line shopping, because you never know about the stuff and its quality. What is shown on a website may not be like an actual product. We go the market, take a look at the different varieties and then decide to buy a product. While going for a purchase in person, we get a chance to bargain the price of a product. Have a great day!

You sound like a great bargain shopper! Over here in Australia there is not too much bargaining of the prices of products in our stores. Usually the set price is what they sell for. I would like to shop in other countries where you can bargain for products.

I do Shopping online and most of the times it would be from rediff shopping. I do know a lot of trust worthy sites but still i restrict my shopping. I do buy any products direct from the vendor rather than on secondary marketing sites like ebay and so on.

Nope, I haven't tried to shop online because I am afraid of credit cart fraud but I think I will do that in the near future since I like some stuff online already. Cheers!

I know it is frightning thinking about credit card fraud, it's a shame there are so many deceitful people out there. One good thing is that banks do seem to reimburse your money if your account is hacked. This happened to my mum, a hacker took $500 from her credit card, she was luckily reimbursed this amount from the bank.

that is so good on where they can reimburse the money if found being hacked or something... 500 dollars is a huge amount!

As a family we do our grocery shopping online and I also sell a few things online and I have bought a few things like cheap computer things, like external hard drives. I don't really buy clothes online as I cannot try them on first like I can in the shop and it is quite a bit of fuss to get a refund compared to offline.
@kiran1978 (4134)

I would also like to find a good online shop for groceries. Can you tell me is it alot cheaper to buy groceries online. I would like to save money on my grocery bill. I don't like to buy many clothes online either like you said you can't try it on, hard to get refund.
@Elixiress (3878)

I wouldn't say it is any cheaper as it is the same store as the offline store, it is just easier because you can do your shopping at any time of day and you can save on petrol prices etc. If we did our shopping the normal way we would got to Sainsbury's but since we only have a small Sainsbury's near us we have to travel quite far to the nearest big one, so we shop online at Sainsbury's. The prices are the same, but you have to pay for delivery, but you save on petrol.

Hello, kiran, i occasionally will buy some stuffs on the net, a little website in China. My last deal was twenty days ago, i usually buy books and necklaces, cause they do not cost much. **Enjoy life~~**

hi lynette, that would be nice buying necklaces, do you find it is cheaper online or roughly same price as shops offline?

Hi, kiran, i found it cheaper. Most of the things i bought online is cheaper than that bought in the shop. Maybe becuase shops have to pay electricity, rent, water, et. which raise the cost. **Enjoy life~~**

Occassionally I do shop online. I buy some things off ebay including my daughter in laws books for school....I got some of her books for little or nothing that cost over a hundred dollars had she bought them in the college bookstore. Otherwise I don't have site I visit on a regular basis.....Oriental trading for scrapping stuff!

That is a good idea shopping at ebay for books at school, have not thought of that before. Glad to hear you saved lots of money, by shopping on ebay, text books can be really expensive.

I have done some online shopping,but typically I am just ordering something from Amazon. I was trying to get some money credited to my account with Inbox dollars one time and I ordered a boat ladder from a site. It's a good product. I also once ordered a toaster oven. i was alittle disappointed with it.

I think the one disadvantage of buying online is you can't physically see what you are paying for. Do they let you return it if it is not what you expected?

I buy books online at amazon occasionally. I have also made a few purchases on eBay (three on 5 years to be exact..i love looking but I'm always a bit leery on ebay.) I've also shopped at noble knight games for rpg books. Computers and accessories i browse through and make suggestions for work but never have purchased personally without it coming in through work.

Amazon seems like a popular choice here at mylot, I need to check that site out. It is good to browse I agree, I think if it was alot safer to buy online, then I would buy more often.

hmmm,not that much.I think I only shopped online if there's something I am looking and I can't find anywhere other than ebay. Also If I happen to see a product that interest me much in a very cheap price that I think I can resell again. But other than that I don't shop online. Especially the shipping is slightly higher. XD

Yes I don't like having to pay more money for shipping, if the product was a real bargain then shipping is not too bad.

Hello Kiran1978, I buy a lot of household items online but I prefer to buy my clothing in person where I can try things on and see how they look on me. I hate buying something that looks good at the store only to find out that I dont like how it fits or just looks on me. But then again, I'm probably a bit more picky about my clothing then most. Yours truly, Tianna

Hi Tianna, yes it is hard to buy clothing online, I once bought this expensive dress online. When I received it, it looked nothing like it did online, I was very disappointed, since I paid so much money for it. So that has put me off buying anymore clothing online. I think buying household items is alot safer to buy online, atleast then you know what to expect.
