My hubbys best friend is getting married again..the friend decided to have his 12 yr old be the best man. I think this is cute. No problem there. Last week friends ex called about a bowling guys night that her son is planning. We didn't hear anymore about it( not time place, notta) until yesterday morning. It's tonight. My hubby and a friend of ours both work LATE on Friday. Our friend called said he can't make it. My hubby plans on going..rushing through things. It's a two hour drive away. If he is lucky he will be home by midnight. My husband has to be at work early Saturday morning..Ok rant over! How would you handle this?

I wouldn't go! I feel like if you don't give me enough time to plan for a thing beforehand, then you don't want me to go in the first place. With two kids that barely anyone in my circle wants to babysit, I have to have ample time to get them situated to do anything. My whole family knows this, and so do my friends. If there is something they want to do with me, they tell me at least a week in advance so I can make arrangements. Anything less than that, I can't go, I don't even attempt to rush and try to get things squared away. If I feel I don't have enough time, I will just say forget it.

Oh, me? I'd go to the party for the kid's sake. That's just me.

Since this is my hubby’s friend, I Would tell him to do whatever he wanted. Not my problem if he stays out late bowling he has to suffer. If someone did that to me, I wouldn’t go.

I would pass on bowling night. He has too much to do in such little time, but it is up to him. I am sure that he is going to end up going in an attempt to be a good friends though. Hopefully he will not be too tired on Saturday for work.

Since this concerns my husband and not me i would let him handle it. If it had been me i would have politely refused the invitation to go bowling and if ask why explained that i work late on Friday nights and report back in early sat. morning. That it is a 2hr. drive each way and if i had had notice i could have worked something out but as it stands I will have to give it a pass.
