Do you ever make your own ice cream?

I used to when I had the motivation. If you do so on occasion, what brand of machine do you use? What favorite flavor(s) do you whip up?

man I have not had homemade ice cream in forever. I have been craving it lately but just don't have the extra money to buy a new ice cream maker and the ingredients right now. I loved making strawberry.

I know what U mean. I have a Cuisinart machine but I not only lack the funds, I lack the patience and time. When I'm not blogging or starting/ joining in on discussions, I'm strategizing how I'm going to pack up and move out of my flat. I've go 60 days and a LOT of stuff. I'm selling/donating & tossing but a lot I cannot. I could go for some cool ice cream now. Thanks for responding. :-}

wow sounds like you are very busy. I hate moving so I want to wish you good luck with all that sorting, packing, and unpacking that goes into moving.

If you like ice cream it is a must try. It kind of sadens me that you never have tried home made ice cream. Some of my fondest memories of my grandparents involves making home made ice cream. We would all gather round take our turn doing the churning by hand crank and eager and impatient for sweet rewards we knew was in the making. I hope you get to try some soon. Man now I want to go get the things I need to make it with my children. As soon as finances are back in order I am off to buy an ice cream maker.

I did when I was young, but when Blue Bell began making homemade vanilla, I put my ice cream freezer in a garage sale.

We have an RCW machine, electric, that we got as a wedding gift 20 years ago! It still works, although the pail is starting to rust. We usually do chocolate because it's everyone's favorite, but we have done strawberry, with fresh strawberries from the garden. Yummy!

Mmmm, fresh-sweet-homemade fruity ice cream is simply the best! So sublime and smooth. I don't have too much problem w/ fruit chunks in the ice cream as long as they're small bits. :-} Thx 4 replying, jillbeth.

I have never made home made ice cream myself. My grandma used to make it though. It seems like homemade ice cream melts alot faster than any other ice cream you have to eat it down fast so it does not turn to soup.

I never noticed that. Maybe 'cuz it lack the preservatives that commercial industries use.
