Free needles and crack pipes Oh My!

Harm reduction I think they call it. In our fine city we are being over run by the crack heads and meth heads and all other kinds of undesirables. The winter Olympics are coming to Vancouver BC and that city is cleaning up the streets and sending the unwanteds across the water to our fine city to deal with. We have a needle exchange in town and the surrounding neighbourhood has gone down the toilet. They were supposed to be shutting down the needle exchange today and going mobile. Those of us working in the neighbourhood all sighed a big relief. Last night they loaded up the mobile needle van drove it across the street and gave out the needles. This morning the poor guy who runs the store/cafe on that street arrived at work and took 30 mins to clear all the druggies out of his doorway. This is not working out so well. Then he gets a letter from a lawyer saying the needle exchange may stay put where it is and the neighbours are out of luck. If this isn't bad enough now they want to give out free crack kits. Yes free crack kits for the crack heads! I think it is great that people want to help these losers but I have a couple problems with all this harm reduction and money spent on these people. I have friends who have a diabetic child. They work hard and try and support their kids best they can. They get a little help from the government to help pay for Diabetic supplies. A couple of weeks ago the support was dropped down and their cost doubled! Don't help the diabetics or the poor but lets give people that don't even pay taxes free needles and crack pipes! We have people dying in the corridors of our hospitals. No rooms for them and no doctors to help. The waiting time in ER is around 5 hours. We have people in pain that have to wait years for surgery. Lets support the junkies and crack heads instead! I am a pot smoker. I pay for my pot and my papers. Why don't I get free papers to roll with? At least I am a tax payer. I was just kidding about this reason but what does bug me is you see people in front of the 7-11 downtown smoking crack but god forbid you step out back of a bar for a quick toke. They will have you in cuffs before you know it! I just felt the need to rant about all of this. Our health care system is failing and they are more worried about non tax paying drug addicted people that steal from cars on a daily basis and are ruining our tourist city. People are canceling conferences booked in the major downtown hotels because our city has gone to the assorted junkies, meth heads and crack heads! Our mayor has his head buried so far up his as$ he has done nothing to improve the city. How about where you live? Do you have a drug problem in your city and if you do how are they approaching it? Free needles? Safe injection sites? Free crack pipes? At what cost to the tax paying citizens? Does it Pis$ you off as much as me?
