Is your birthday still special?

It's my birthday tomorrow and I am wondering what you think of your birthday, when I was young I was always so excited but now the excitement isn't there it is just like another day, maybe its because I'm a mum and my sons bday is so much more special end exciting, it is exactly 3 weeks before mine and he is only 5 so still very young. Do you feel the same as me or am I a one off ha ha! When its someone elss bday I am really happy for them and make loads of effort like my friends the other week, we went for lunch and then us and a few friends had drinks in the evening it was really special for her and the week later it was a friends 40th and we went out for a few drinks and had a great time, I'll make an effort for others but am not bothered about my own, do you think I'm strange LOL!!

Since I got married, we have not celebrated birthdays very much, not with much vigor anyway! My family did celebrate each person's birthday with cake and ice cream, if possible, as well as a few gifts, mostly items that we really needed but something fun too! I do not think we ever get too old to celebrate!

No I agree that you are never to old to celebrate but I think things just change for some reason, well it has for me! Thanks for your response.

I agree with you! The celebration may change with age, but it is still a celebration!
