what if you help the wrong person?

have you had an experience where you discovered that the person you helped fooled you?
i had this experienced back in my college years. i was walking to school, when suddenly a boy was asking for help. he was almost in tears. he said that he was lost and he doesn't have any money to go home because some kids bullied him and get his money. since i have some extra money from my allowance, i gave him money and help him get a ride home. so i thought he'll be ok.
just after a month or so, im walking at a mall. this same boy was following me. he even ride with me on the escalator. and you know what, he did his spill! he said the same story that he is lost and he's money was robed by some bully kids and so on.. i just listened while he was saying all his lies. and when he's done talking. i asked him, if he remembers me. he said no and made a step backward. then i said to him that i already met him and he said the same thing before. i was about to look for a help but he just run away... actually i was worried for myself, maybe this boy had a company and hurt me...
helping is good, very good. but at times, there are people who just used us.. but still not enough reason to stop helping others..

wow! That was quite scary chechuva if he has some company. Anyway, I don't really trust strangers, I used to give some candies and coins to beggar. But, will not stop longer and listen to them.We can't trust this time, it is also very sad that other people are making it as a business!

I agree, sad to know about it but, I do know if parents are aware of that or parents themselves encourage those kids to do so!

i share that same experience with you. there was this woman carrying 3 little kids. they look so rugged and the kids are dirty, so obvious that they are from a very unfortunate condition in life. she ask for money from me, saying she needs a little amount for fare to their way back home, and that her kids are so hungry already. i gave her money thinking that she really mean what she says. but the next month, here she goes again, saying the same spill. i was so disappointed and tell her not to use her children to fool other people.

I once stopped and gave a couple dollars to a homeless man who was holding a sign and begging for money at an intersection near my house. He thanked me for the money and I as drove by the next day he was there again but in different clothes. I have lived here how for almost a year and that man stands out there several days a week, in different clothes, begging for money. I though that homeless people couldn't afford a full wardrobe. He has really clean teeth too which makes me think it is just your average guy who wants some extra cash. I saw an episode of Oprah once where people told stories about how they dressed up as bums to get extra money from people who felt sorry for them. Sorry that we were both victims.
